Running a 48-hour hackathon without six spreadsheets

Teams, submissions, judging and prizes, all on the event page.

Localhost team · 2026

Most hackathons are run out of a sign-up form, a team-finding spreadsheet, a submission form, a judging spreadsheet, a Discord and a prize spreadsheet. Six tools, one exhausted organizer.

Registration is the roster

Ticket tiers already know who is coming. Add "looking for a team" as a badge flag and the team board writes itself.

Submissions belong on the page

A repo link, a demo video and a 200-word pitch, submitted by the team lead, visible to judges, published to attendees after the deadline.

Judging is a rubric, not a vibe

Four criteria, a one-to-five scale, every judge scores every project they saw. The leaderboard is the average, live, projected on the wall.

Pay prizes the way you took tickets

Same rails, same receipts. Winners get paid the day of, not three weeks later.

Hackathon mode on Localhost does all of this from the event page. It is the first module after the core launch.
