FAQ
Tickets, money, hosting, and which events belong here.

Attendees
Where is my ticket?
In your email, and on your ticket page with a QR code. Show either at the door.
Apple Wallet and Google Wallet?
Coming at launch. Until then the QR on your ticket page works offline once loaded.
Can I get a receipt with my company name and VAT number?
Yes. Add them at checkout and the receipt carries them. You can also download it from the ticket page after launch.
Refunds?
Each host sets a refund window; it is shown on the event page. Inside the window it is one tap from your ticket page and the platform fee is returned too.
Who can see me on the guest list?
Only ticket holders of the same event, and only if you opted in. You choose whether your badge says hiring or looking.
Which currencies?
USD, EUR and GBP. Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and SEPA from anywhere.
Hosts
Is it really free?
Free events cost nothing, forever, with unlimited attendees. We earn on paid tickets and sponsor slots.
What does a paid ticket cost me?
4.7% a ticket, capped at ₦3,500 (or the local equivalent), nothing under ₦2,000. Shown to buyers as part of the price. Paid straight to your bank as each sale happens. No separate service fee.
When do I get paid?
Two days after the event, to your bank, in your currency.
How does check-in work?
Any phone opens the door page with your PIN and scans QR codes. No app to install.
Which events belong on Localhost?
Every scene with a door: tech, music, nightlife, comedy, church programmes, weddings. Pick the scene when you create the event so the right page finds it. Everything else is declined at review.
Why not just use Luma?
Use Luma for everything. Use Localhost when your event has speakers, a CFP, sponsors or a hackathon, when you want to be found in a city feed that also lists Luma, Meetup and Eventbrite events, and when you want a community with followers who hear first.
